Hoya Memoria is ready to burst with flowers!

So I’ve had this Hoya Memoria since the fall of 2023. It was a small plant of about 6 leaves from the local garden center – I repotted it into my light mix as usual.
At first, we were at odds. I couldn’t figure out the watering and light. In response, the Memoria didn’t grow and/or dropped new leaves. I was mad, to say the least.
Then in the fall of 2024, I had it enough. I took it out, trimmed the old roots (in pretty average condition, by the way) and re-rooted it in a self-watering pot with a wick.
And it started growing. In fact, some of its patterns still baffle me – for example, on one of the stems it continues to grow just teeny tiny leaves. It’s weird.
But at the same time, it hasn’t lost a single young leaf and, what’s more, it has produced at least 3 peduncles on different stems.
Also, I still don’t quite understand how to water her properly. At first, I watered from above, leaving about 1 cm of water in the reservoir. It’s hard to say for sure, but she doesn’t seem to like it very much.
So now I just fill the reservoir 1-1.5 cm and then leave ithe whole set up to dry fully. And only then I fill the reservoir again.
Let’s see how we get on with this approach.
🪴 Substrate – perlite/pumice/bark mix in self-watering pit with wick
☀️ Light – Sansi 15W
☔ Humidity – normal room humidity, about 50-60%
🍃 Special notes – kinda loves to be on the wetter side? But with drying periods? Remains to be seen.
